We are delighted to share with you the fourth and most recent edition of the EUCAN Cluster Newsletter.
The EUCAN cluster is made up of the six projects that were funded under the Horizon 2020 call SC1-BHC-05-2018 (CINECA, EUCANCan, EUCAN-Connect, euCanSHare, iReceptor Plus, ReCoDID).

The EUCANCan communications team caught up with Mikel Recuero Linares, a PhD student and Researcher at the Chair in Law and the Human Genome R.G. at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), to discuss challenges and opportunities associated with being an early-career researcher in an international project such as EUCANCan. Cristina Viaplana and Anna Pedrola Gómez are both part of the Oncology Data Science Group (ODysSey) at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) in Barcelona, Spain, led by Dr Rodrigo Dienstmann. In this interview, they share insights into their work with the Onco Trials Track platform, a public online platform that supports healthcare providers in finding the most suitable clinical trial for cancer patients. EUCANCan entered its final phase of designing and testing different technical and sociological solutions to challenges related with the sharing of genomic and clinical data across different institutions in the context of modern oncology. As part of this effort, the consortium aims at building a pilot-platform that enables transfers of cancer genomic data between the project nodes in Europe and Canada. On October 29, 2021, the EUCAN ELSI Collaboratory hosted the webinar “International Data Sharing: Fostering Engagement, Transparency and Accountability”, supported by the EUCAN Dissemination and Communication Group.
